Back to the River’s renovation efforts have opened up a variety of leisure activities for the public to enjoy. An extensive web of trails weaves through the wooded areas surrounding the Missouri River and is now open to hikers and bikers. If camping is more your style, we offer campgrounds that are open year-round. Or if you just want to enjoy the outdoors for a couple of hours, why not take the family on an afternoon picnic? Not only will you enjoy the beautiful scenery but you will also have the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife in their natural habitat.

Designated areas have also been made available for sports enthusiasts - including hunting, fishing and even boating opportunities. In addition to these exciting leisure activities, we also sponsor a number of fun educational programs that provide information on the Missouri River and our restoration projects.
