In Past Projects

The City of Council Bluffs, together with numerous partners, proposed a new, family oriented festival for Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park.  We agreed to join this partnership and support Summerfest.

Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park was specifically designed as a space where residents and visitors, from both Nebraska and Iowa, could come together to celebrate on the banks of the Missouri River.  Summerfest at River’s Edge Park furthers this objective.  The program’s goal is to reach the attendance and popularity of Council Bluffs “Winterfest” and become a “must attend” summer event.

Summerfest at River’s Edge Park will bring a wide variety of activities to the riverfront.  Live music, food trucks, activities in Belles’ Play Garden, face painters, inflatables and field events including baseball, soccer, lacrosse, disc golf and flag football are all planned.

Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park reflects the power of the Missouri River and mirrors the strength and grace of the adjacent Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge.  Back to the River joined with 600 private donors, the City of Council Bluffs and the Iowa West Foundation to fund this project.  Programs held in Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park that address our Mission and Goals, continue to receive our support.
