We are proud to have partnered with Heartland BCycle to bring rental bicycles to the Riverfront. And they’ve been a success! In fact, our bike stations are among the Metro’s most popular.

Why are our stations so heavily used? Certainly, the development of the Omaha/Council Bluffs Riverfront attractions is a factor; however the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge also contributes. The Bridge allows visitors to simply hop on a bike and explore the trails – on both sides of the river!

Today, electric bicycles are available to rent and proving popular. As a result, many of the older bikes and Riverfront rental sites have converted to electricity. Riding a bike continues to be a “cool” way to visit the Riverfront – we helped make it easy!
